Your comment takes me back to the earliest days of my career, Joe. I tried out, before getting regular work, for an assistant job with Dan Adkins, the inker (who would later work over my pencils on IRON FIST). Dan said one of the things he liked about my work was that even when the panels were small, they were big. In other words, he liked the way I conveyed depth and volume even when there wasn't a whole lot of room in which to do so.

Guess I still got it! ;-)

Cocoa inspects today's mail.  Hm....what could be inside?!?!?

This picture is appropriate because it shows off the new hardwood floors we recently had installed which guarantees me guilt-free comic art buying for at least the rest of this year!

....and here's the commission with the comic that inspired it.  More than two decades in the making!  This particular copy of FF 249 was autographed by JB the first time I met him at MidOhioCon in 2001.

Just happened to randomly notice that today is exactly one year since this one was completed!  If all goes well, I'll be getting this one framed and commissioning another FF companion piece for this one by the end of 2011.

It's been far too long since I took a piece to the framers!  Three Byrne commissions under my belt since the last one I actually got framed.  Planning to take this one tomorrow!  Sort of like taking a pet to the vet.  You know it's best for them but it's hard to drop them off!
