end up looking, as it sort of does here, like the world's most assertive codpiece

All hail Robert Bradley, Monarch of Microheroes!

Yeah, I'm not so thrilled with the new look, but it's not the first time I've disliked an updated IM armor.

Echoing others, I like the first Ditko armor best. Then the version that came after the red and silver, as drawn by JRjr. Heck, I even liked the Sean Chen one. (Yay, pointy faceplate!)

I wasn't familiar with the "Armored Avengers" that JB referred to from WHAT IF?, so I did a quick Web search.  Here's what I found:

Any time you give me the Iron Man armor with the horned mask, I'm happy!  I do like the blue-and-silver on Giant Man . . . or would that be the Iron Giant?

Used to own a beautiful page from that issue. Sold it when I was a bit strapped for cash following my divorce.

Regrets, regrets, regrets…

I'm undoubtedly in the minority here, but I do like the new armor, though, admittingly and, as JB pointed out, there are lots of angles to draw so the artists have to be somewhat careful.  Surprisingly though, the armor currently featured in the books does have its' share of angles and most of the artists, to my knowledge, have done a pretty good job drawing it.  I guess it all comes down to taste really.

I have seen enough pictures of previous incarnations of the armor but I don't, and never have, really followed Iron Man so I'm not really attached to any specific incarnation, as I know some of you are.

••

That actually has nothing to do with what I posted.

It's not my favorite armor but it's interesting.
