I don't mind it at all.  Truth be told, I've never cared much for the "classic" 70's armor, despite being the standard when I first started reading comics.  I can't really articulate why, beyond saying it just didn't "click" for me.
+++++

Same here.

I think it looks very ANIME, which is ok.  All those lamps are a bit silly, though.

It looks pretty good to me.

I prefer the armor shown in the post at the top of the thread.

See, here's what sucks. I like the way that looks, but there's no chance in hell the stories are gonna be fun, concise, and well, "Marvel", ya know?

It's like Iron-Spider. Imagine if things still operated the way they did in the 80's or even 90's and Spider-Man and Iron Man teamed up for a few short issues to fight the Mandarin or something and Stark built Peter the suit for funsies. I'd probably not wince as bad at the design knowing it came from a fun comic book story and not the dismal "Civil War" on the coattails of "The Other".

The new design is a bit too sleek. At a certain point it stops looking like armor and more like shiny spandex.

...

So Tony said "Yes!" when Cyclops asked him if he'd prefer yellow spandex.

Lol! The article says that it's another perfect jumping on point.

Well isn't THAT nice.

I'd better jump on now, otherwise I'll have to wait 11 months until I get another chance to start collecting Iron Man!

A while back I did 'The Iron Man Project' where I worked on doing all of the Iron Man armors and did most of them -

Wow, some of the latter ones are just hideous. From whence the silver and purple one? And what's up with the caped Tony Stark?

The silver and purple/pink one is his latest stealth armor from Black Panther #44.

The caped Tony Stark is 'Spare Parts Man" from Iron Man #196
