Those issues did the same thing for me with the Doom Patrol and that cover just rocks!

My first comic, and my intro to Superman and Batman.

A few years later was my introduction to the X-men - bought at a magazine shop in Kenvil, NJ.
After a few months I became fanatical about this book and these characters.

Somewhere within the 6 issues of the New X-Men I had, I got this Amazing Adventures issue, which introduced me to all of the original X-Men.  Then after the Uncanny issue with the entire history of the X-Men, I realized I had about one hundred and thirty seven issues of the X-Men to get.

My plan was to get them thru this Amazing Adventures series, which was stopped around 10 or so.  I couldn't understand why it stopped.

My intro to Juggernaut and Madame Web. I already knew who Spidey was.

My intro to the X-Men, past and present ( at the time; the book even ontroduced me to Kitty)

My intro to Dark Phoenix. It was after reading this issue and the issue before it that made me start the whole "back issue search" for the earlier X-Men issues. THEN I discovered JB!

And my intro to Iron Fist.
