Adams drew some actual Archie strips in the late 50's, but this Black Hood story was done in the early 70's. It (and the other three Black Hood stories in this digest) were done as part of a prospective revival of the character that was aborted before publication. Archie Comics sat on the stories for a few years and then used them in this digest. Amazing to think an Adams story sat in the drawer for several years unused.
Kirby worked for Archie briefly in the late 50's when his ex-partner Joe Simon was editing. He did a handful of Fly and Shield stories, a couple of which were reprinted in that digest.
