I wonder, if Spidey was wearing hi red-and-black threads, how the subjective contour would work with this piece.•• Little bit like this? ****** This would be a nice companion piece....hmmmmm

I thought the old windows were stylized, not imperfect! ••
Trust me, they're imperfect! Aside from the "crossword puzzle" effect it took me quite a long time to shake, there's no real sense of the buildings existing in space relative to each other. Small windows are seen on the front of buildings that are clearly closer than those with larger windows behind them. This is something about which I have trained myself to be ever watchful!

The objects in the windows have depth now rather than looking like shadows on a shade, which is something I never considered until a few nighttime commissions ago. •• Some of that is due to the angle on the last few commissions. Looking at the Gallery, I notice that most, tho certainly not all, of the night shots tended to be looking UP at the buildings. ==== I'm coming to the party late on this one but am no less impressed. Spider-Man looks fantastic, the perspective on the buildings are awesome. And to go a step further than the posts I copied, I SWEAR I can make out particular pieces of furniture and people doing particular activities in some of those windows. It may just be a rorschach effect, but I swear I see them.

JB,
First of all, AWESOME!
Second, that "find edges" version with all the white, when tweaked obviously, could be a really neat way of drawing an attack by a villain like Electro! (I guess color would kinda ruin it if done wrong though)

Since I love the black costume so much and want to commission one for myself one day, I naturally am drawn to this one! But having said that, this one would be my favorite commission ever no matter what, simply because it is by far the most dynamic and visually stimulating piece I have ever seen from JB. Well done and how awesome would that be to be hanging on your wall in person to look at! Now having seen two black Spider-mans, I really must eventually save up the money to get mine. It may be a while, but I have to have it!

Great commission. I'm no fan of the black costume, but images like this one and the Web of.. cover are exceptions to that dislike.

It just struck me - the 'find edges' variant looks like Thor or somesuch just brought down the greatest lightning flash of all time!
