Very cool, Rich. I always enjoy hearing the commissioners thoughts on the pieces and the behind the scenes stories on how they came about (in fact, I think it should be mandatory!). So is this Avengers mural complete? I think at the very least you need an Avengers Villains mural to match it!

Never say never, but for now I am very satisfied with this line up. The last piece of this commission features the characters that were appearing in the group as I started reading book. Some of my favorite issues of Avengers were when JB and Perez were the artists, as I bought those issues off the stands. Beyond the characters of these commissions there weren't a lot of other characters that I cared for with the exception of Ms. Marvel, Falcon and maybe Tigra. I thought they were running out of ideas for the book when they included Mr Fantastic and the Invisible Woman to the roster. I love theose characters but in the pages of the FF, not as Avengers. That's like making J Jonah Jameson and honorary member, it just didn't belong in the book. And really, who would want to see an addition to this piece with the Forgotten One included, Not Me! That character is better off being...Forgotten! I agree with JB that the Avengers that felt "Real" were the earlier groups, although I also felt the line up's from the Roy Thomas/ John Buscema issues were very strong as well.

Rich - it would be great to see an early "John Buscema-Era" commission with a beardless Hercules, the fishnet version of the Black Widow and perhaps Hawkeye, Hank (as Goliath), the Wasp, the Black Panther, the Vision and (of course) Jarvis!
At any rate, we enjoyed seeing your commissions!

Congratulations, what an amazing piece to have on your wall. Cap and the Black Panther are my two favorite characters in this piece, they look extremely eager for some serious action!

Really great piece. Love the different size. The Goliath Hank Pym in the third area has a Don Heck vibe to me. Very cool. Fun stuff.

The title has a double meaning? === Since it's the Avengers, there the whole "Avengers Assemble" aspect. And then, since it's two (or four) that when assembled together make one image.

The full size version posted by Christos looks like it would be a great extended folded cover to a special Avengers comic that would feature a story of Avengers of different time eras coming together (similar to when the different Dr. Who's met up) to fight a common enemy. Hmmmm, any thoughts JB?
