It might be fun to list all the different editions of the Dark Phoenix saga - I might have one of each!

Hi Brendan,

Great list!  Hope this helps even more John Byrne fans find his work:

  • Champions Classic v1 TPB has Champions #10 by Mr. Byrne.
  • Marvel Masterworks Warlock v2 reprints his Marvel Team-Up issue.
  • The latest Essential Spider-Man v9 includes the Annual he did as well as the three early issues of Amazing (189, 190, and 206)
  • The Roger Stern Visionaries also contains Amazing Spider-Man 206
  • Essential Peter Parker v3 contains a Spectacular issue he drew, #58.
  • FF/Spider-Man Classic contains some Byrne goodness, including FF #218
  • I believe the upcoming Classic What If volume has his FF issue.
  • Finally, the upcoming FF: In Search of Galactus has his early FF issues, pre Visionaries v0

Good stuff, Kevin! I will get those added in the next few days.

Why didn't they do another X-Men omnibus to complete John Byrne's run in that format?

I find it odd that his entire run isn't available in trade also.

I've got a pocket B&W edition of two Captain America stories by JB - should we be listing stuff like that? It's a fun and unique find.

Hmmm. Are those Captain America stories included in the "War and Remembrance" TPB on the list? Or are they other stories?

My plan was to link to the in-print collected editions whenever possible, rather than try to to create a comprehensive list of all paperbacks and hardbacks that have ever existed (not to mention every edition). I made an exception for some of the X-Men and Next Men books that reprint the same issues in different configurations.

Yes, they are in "War & Remembrance". And this one is long out of print. I like your instinct to avoid trying to be comprehensive. I think I'm a rare bird in collecting different TPB editions - I think more people buy TPB for reading convenience and save the collecting part for actual comic books.

There is a new Avengers Knights Of Wundagore TPB out. It seemingly includes Avengers Vol. 1 #181-187.

The upcoming Project Pegasus HC will also have a different (and more JB friendly) content.

Pedro, that Avengers book is already on Brendan's list.

And those issues are favorites of mine!

They will be mine.  Oh, yes - They will be mine.

Except for the ones I already have.
