Whatever happened to the old Jiff taste? I loved Jiff growing up, but ever sense they switched to that "roasted flavor" I've been unable to eat the stuff!  I had to switch to Skippy.

 QUOTE:
But is this the same flavor as the mid-1980s "Taco Doritos"?  I think there have been other attempts to make something similar since then, but nothing that quite matches up with that original version.

Well, to my taste buds, it certainly seems to be the same seasoning as the original (just as salty anyway).

Yodells and Ring Dings.  I'm not sure if it was Drake's or Hostess who put 'em out, but they were my go-to sweet stuff instead of most of the Tastykake products.  I think a company called Entemann's puts out imitations in my area these days, but they pale in comparison.

Must be regional...there are a ton of them out by me

I think you are right, Bob.  All I can find are the frozen ones.

Joe stole my answer, JELL-O brand pudding pops!!  Those things were great.  I think Bill Cosby took the recipe when he left them.

Instead I'll go with, TACO BELL's chili-cheese burrito.  My abosolute favorite junk food when I was younger.  Probobly a good thing they stopped making them.

Lime Starburst, once the source of my incredible powers.

Now I have to do like everyone else and absorb sunlight. Boring!

Granted, I was only 10 at the time, but I thought Reggie Bars were phenomenal.  (These were chocolate/caramel/peanut candy bars named after Reggie Jackson.)

I also miss chocolate-flavored bubble gum... Bubble Yum, I believe, had this out for maybe a year in 1979 or so.  Then it went the way of the Dodo pretty quickly.
