Here are some Talisman images from the Omega Flight series. Two of them show "wardrobe malfunctions." The third one, well, I just don't understand how the costume stays on. Magic?

I just don't understand how the costume stays on. Magic?---Rob ------------------- LOL, you know I've -never- as a kid, or as an adult, asked that question when looking at JB's work. Some artists draw supe-duds in such a manner as to make them literal and you then realise that you are looking at something that doesn't -really- work, but then the artist has failed. Buscema, Davis, Byrne, Cockrum and many others seemed to be able to suspend our disbelief so much better than a lot of the others. I swear that "Realistic" supe-duds, like jacket-and-combats came about because of this inability.

Darren , that is quite a good observation . And as I have admited in the past, I can't seem to draw a proper superhero. Now regular people on the other hand, that's easy.

Arc, the way I view it is, you're drawing a 'character'. This character has spent years being drawn a paticular way. If you try and draw this character in an -unfamiliar- way you open yourself to potential problems. If you mainly see Galactus from paricular angles, those are probably the -best- angles to see his costume from. As soon as you push it a little further you have to maybe make up a join or lessen the impact of the recognition of the character. I feel -that's- part of the dynaminisim of the image. Byrne has been consistantly great at drawing a character and keeping the character recognisable, regardless of how near or how far away. Nect time you draw a superhero, try and get -into- the character and have a bit of fun but keep in mind that, with a look, we need to know who it is. D.

I personally find it disturbing when female characters (cause they're the only ones who do that) strip naked or strike a hoochie pose while talking about their father.

Talisman was attractive when drawn by JB. Here she looks slutty. Out of character. Not surprising though, considering that NONE of the characters from Alpha Flight were depicted IN-character since JB left the book.

I'm going to double post this, sorry. However, I wanted to add how much I'd LOVE to have seen JB on AF 29, with the Hulk/Alpha clash! That would have bent my mind! LOL.

I'll do my best and who knows, one day you'll see me posting a proper superhero in the sketch thread. By the way, your Alpha Flight art keeps getting better. The last one is truly awesome. I really like it.

It's true that he is pretty solid. And he's improved tons at that too. He definitely deserves more attention than he gets.
