That Alpha Flight Classics cover looks odd without the word balloon, almost like Guardian is about to bust out some kung-fu on Cyclops and Spider-man. Maybe they should have gone with the t-shirt/poster art above.

I had the yellow tee. I wore it until the image began to fade and then it became a permanent fixture in the back of my closet because I didn't want to get rid of the AF shirt.

Enough! I am going to cry! This is a torture! I miss them so much ! I have a wish JB would come back and do some kind of " Alpha Flight: Hidden years". But considering what he thinks of the series, the actual situation at Marvel and the way the team has been badly treated all those years....

That Marvel Team Up annual is just so weird. I would VERY much enjoy seeing Neary inking Byrne and there is just the opposite combo! And while I am a big fan of Neary's inking (Hitch and Davis look amazing when he inks them), his pencilling always left me kinda cold. Nice set of images above, the thread is quite a treat. That Jeff Butler guy does an impressive impression of JB, btw. Not only Aurora and Snowbird look like JB's, but even the machinery and the Hulk and the energy blasts look Byrne to me.

It would be great to have a member here that used to work for LUG editions (French editions for Marvel titles) We would know why they had their home artist to do their own versions of Marvel covers. Non French people must realize that in France, Byrne came off as the official Marvel artist since you got Byrne's X-men, Byrne's FF, Byrne's Iron Fist, Byrne's Alpha Flight and Byrne's team ups at the same time due to publishing delays and discrepancies between Lug titles.

Ryan, as always I'm loving that Guardian figurine that JB painted for you. A question for you (or JB): does the maple leaf stem go all the way down the leg, or just to mid-thigh? Curious as to which version of the suit JB went with here.To all the posters of all things AF in this thread, thank you. It's nice to see old friends again.

It goes down to mid-thigh. Definitely the coolest thing I own!

That Alpha flight game book had Cascade and Blizzard as villains if i recall..i had that plus about 7 or 8 others with the game, but sold them long ago. If i remember, you could play as Sasquatch, Aurora, Northstar and Puck only..come to think of it, the Leader may have been a villain in it too..

Actually, Northstar & Marrina were optional characters in Cat's Paw, with the main group being Sasquatch, Shaman, Puck, Snowbird, and Aurora (and I can't remember if a pre-battlesuit Heather was also available). Kinda weird since the Aurora in the game was the one with her powers altered by Walter and estranged from her brother due to the Deadly Ernest affair, yet she was back in her original AF appearance.

Some day I'd love to commission a LIFE SIZE Puck from JB!
40X30 is the biggest board size JB uses -- would that work? Maybe he would be crouching...? How tall is Puck?
