Didn't mail order comics get sent out like that? I remember a few issues of Micronauts being similar.

Oh, that cover appeared as a framed poster on the wall in Ms. Marvel #1:

Yes, those maroon bordered images are from Marvel Age. I do a thing every Monday for parody issues and issues that contain little AF parody images like that.
For what you just posted, the Alpha Flight/Hulk image, the Sasquatch shedding image and the "short month" image are from Marvel Age #26.

Yep. A demo pic of a custom skin to be used in Freedom Force. I recognize the demo pic...it's the format used by one of the more prolific (and better) custom skinners back when the game was still relatively new and bustling. I think I even downloaded this particular skin.

"Does Sasquatch shed?" and the "short month" are quite funny.

Nathan,That variant seems dubious to me.John Byrne would never screw up the perspective on those 'Tube' things so bad. In the top left corner there are even some that left floating and unattached. Clear indicator that whoever tried to fill-in-the-blanks is an inferior wannabe. Besides Marvel didn't do variants back then anyhow.

that's from Death Metal # 2 (Marvel UK) I always thought that was a fairly good rendition of Sasquatch

It's like they didn't realize they didn't finish filling in where the corner box was. It's a fake.

The Alpha Flight logo on the "variant" cover tipped me that something wasn't quite kosher. Looks like bad PhotoShop
