The Alpha Flight Gags stuff is really funny! Reminds me of something you might have seen in Marvel Age magazine back in the 1980s. Very fun.

Catching up a bit...Arc, Bill Mantlo was a tremendous writer, in my opinion. His Alpha Flight run wasn't well-received, but he did great work on many other series during the 1970s and '80s, and was a real workhorse.

He wrote most of the first 90 issues of Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man and had a couple of lengthy runs on Marvel Team-Up as well. His Spider-Man work includes some great stories - the Carrion saga, a time travel story arc in MTU, the Doc Ock/Owl gang war, the Wraith storyline, the introduction of the White Tiger and many more.

I think I've only read a couple of Thing issues he wrote and probably a few more things and that's about it. I cannot say I'm an expert in Mantlo's comic production...

Ah, Ultimate Alpha Flight.  I had just about erased all memory of that from my brain.  I think I'll go reread Kevin's Facebook birthday message to Talley now.
