Interesting interview Anthony, and Mr. Stan Lee said something that I agree, Disney does a better job on character management than Marvel. I wonder if the "visual identity" of Marvel characters is going to be standardized.

I am a big fan of Disney characters and I always felt that John Byrne gave the best "visual identity" to Marvel characters, in my opinion, if Marvel ever had a "Disney like artist" that was John Byrne, not sure if he ever felt this way.

in my opinion, if Marvel ever had a "Disney like artist" that was John Byrne, not sure if he ever felt this way. •• If you mean this in the sense of trying to find the most consistent model for the characters, and then sticking to that model, I guess I could call myself a "Disney-like artist". Certainly it pains me when I flip thru half a dozen books featuring what is supposed to be the same character and have absolutely no sense that the artists were referencing the same source.

Yes John, that and the fact that when I was reading your stories I felt like I was reading the "Carl Barks" of the super heroes. I was not interested in super heroes (only Uncle Scrooge and Disney ducks) and then I got an X-men comic book with John art and that was amazing. I honestly hope that Disney uses John Byrne art to standardize the visual identity of Marvel Characters. If Giancarlo Fisichela was given (today!) a chance to drive a Ferrari, something that he wanted all his life, why I cannot dream about that...

Heck, Mary Jane looks different in each of the three Amazing Spider-Man books that come out each month.
