Is Mighty Avengers an action / adventure comic? What have they accomplished? Which villains have they fought? From browsing quickly and the covers it seems all they do is chat and nothing happens.

Matt, I know this is OT but, you might want to give Dan Slott's MightyAvengers a try. It, to me, feels much like the Avengers I grew up on. Also he varies the length of each storyline appropriately (threeparters, two parters, etc.). |

Yes, MIGHTY AVENGERS is the one where Hank Pym told Reed Richards "It's on, bitch." Just like he always used to when we were kids...

Also, how are they related to the Avengers? By that I mean are they the non registered team to the Avengers registered team or is that even an issue any more? Are they in NYC and, if so, what is their purpose, what defines them, that makes them different. I get West Coast Avengers and Great Lakes Avengers, but two Avengers teams in NYC seems redundant. Finally, if they are the unregistered team, how much does that crap come up? For the record, I hated it, so I tend not to read any books about it or that has it as a theme.

Well the first story arc was an Ultron story. Then there were 12 issues or so directly or indirectly dealt with the Secret Invasion story. There were two issues dealing with Pym/Reed Richards and there was some battling there between the two teams. Now they are battling the Unspoken. Some big things are going to happen soon I think and don't want to give any spoilers.

================================= That was a brutal line in what was an enjoyable two-issue arc. The problem was in using that line I felt more like cheering for Richards who isn't even part of the title. Pym has been a little more of a "toe-the-line" character since Janet's death.

Matt - This was, when introduced, the registered superhero Avengers and that the New Avengers was the unregistered team. Now of course there are the Dark Avengers who are more closely related to the New Avengers team.

Yeah there were a couple other single issues in there as well but that Secret Invasion thing kind of ruined what I thought may be kind of a sweet idea. Having a registered and an un-registered team of Avengers in conflict with each other could have worked well. Like I said all momentum was killed in SI and then Dark Reign has kind of pushed Mighty Avengers off on their own in some ways (even though it does have one major plot point that will be important at some point in time).
