If someone put out a New Baby issue that sold thru the roof, there would be a population explosion like you never saw!

JB, you've deftly explained the recent illegitimate child boom.  Since I haven't seen it mentioned on the forum yet, shall I point out that the Hulk now has a second illegitimate child in space with his own title?  That makes two bastards and a test tube baby, you go green genes!

In the latest A-rated issue of Amazing Spider-Man, the Chameleon rapes Pete's female roommate. I just cancelled my subscription.

••

Where did you get that from?  The Chameleon (as Peter) was getting chewed out by Peter's roomie.  He got up and forced a kiss on her which she then reciprocated/welcomed and then they had sex (assumed but not seen).  There was no rape involved.  She actually *giggled* in the last panel.

Well, but see, she thought it was Peter, so technically....

How dare a villain like the Chameleon engage in such atrocious behavior...

You think, while impersonating someone, he's never slept with someone's wife?

She thought she was having sex with Peter Parker. She was having sex with the Chameleon without her knowledge - he started the encounter and led her to believe it was with someone else.

It's rape.

Steve - it's not about that he may not have done this before, it's more is this really needed in an all ages comic?

I've mentioned before that my wife and I are currently having a baby and we are discussing what we will let him read when he gets older. Currently I'm looking at Essentials and very little of what is being put out at the moment. Most of it he will ave to wait until he is a teenager.

By this argument, Johnny Storm was being raped throughout JB, Englehart, and the early part of DeFalco's FF run.

Leave my run out of this, thank you very much. I reject DeFalco's moronic retcon, and always will.

That Tom DeFalco, enemy of all-ages comics...

Edited to Add:  I agree in hating the retcon JB, I stopped reading FF until Heroes Return over it, in fact.  I'm just questioning whether said retcon makes Johnny a 'rape victim' and makes the stories in appropriate for children.

Now don't get me wrong it is very unethical of Chameleon to sleep with someone's wife or to get someone to sleep with him.  This by definition though isn't what rape is and no it still doesn't really need to be an A-rated book.

You guys seem on the verge of taking this thread down a very strange and disturbing path. I suggest you think very, very hard about what you are going to post next -- especially if it is "witty" -- and then don't post it at all.
