If that was a FRIDAY THE 13TH comic, I'd be digging it.
And yes, the FRIDAY THE 13TH comic book is actually really well-done. Picked up the first two volumes of the trades and enjoyed them immensely. For one, the stories don't suck like the movies do. And two, nobody is embarrassed by Jason and the gore and supernatural elements.
So, what happens is, you get talented people having fun and doing Jason stories better than any ever. Not that that's hard to do.

I don't read it, but I know of the Dark Avengers. Since it's Marvel, though, I can't take it for granted that's not Clint Barton.
Just so we're clear - that's Bullseye as Hawkeye, and not Clint, right?

Man, what is up with the gore?!? That Psycho Pirate drawing is just gross. Reminds me of why I was disgusted by Infinite Crisis...
edit: 'just scrolled back a page and saw that Nathan posted the panels from IC I was thinking of. I don't like gore, and I expected a company-wide crossover to be safe from too much of it--you know, because it starred Superman? and Batman?

On a side note: Superman's wearing the S on his belt now? This ensaddens
me.
Only when certain pencillers draw him. Editors aren't doing their job, IMHO.
And yeah, I usually like Geoff Johns, but he seems to have a serious gore fetish.

Brad- Yeah that is Bullseye. So not out of character but they didn't really need to show the end result.

Jason - I agree! And thanks - I figured it was Bullseye but like I said, you can never be too certain these days.
Also, gory or not, (though I agree it's over the top in detail, it could have been done cleverly off panel and we all would have known what happened) Power Girl's and Black Adam's exchange after the killing of Psycho Pirate is one of my favourite lines of the series.
PG "Was that really necessary?"
BA "Absolutely."

Er, I think the guys in charge just have to go. There is nothing, NOTHING, that can justify all the stupidity seen here. I mean, heroes cutting people's eyes out?!? What the f@(& are they thinking?!? People/zombies/whatever running around with eyes hanging? Bleah! Please, please, please let this nightmare stop at some point!
As for Cyclops, it's one thing to have him abandon wife and child after his long thought soul-mate returns from the dead, it's another to have him organize a group of assassins to take care of the really bad villains. It doesn't even make sense!
I hadn't even noticed the s-belt on Superman, distracted by the absolutely horrific and wrong gore-fest. And, btw, why are they not showing tits and fur and sex? It can't possibly be worst than showing dismembering or eye pocking!

This ceaseless trend towards anti-heroism in superhero comics ... it's astonishing.
