In other words, "like his skin is disintigrating, the way JB wrote him".

I'm confused: I thought it was outside continuity?

It is. But you've seen this aspect of Bizzarro before. Unless you didn't read John Byrne's take on the character.

And you're deflecting the point. Looking like he's disntigrating is not the same as looking like he's aging rapidly.

I know the OP said *yawn* about the Superman vs. Bizarro picture, but I disagree.  The figures could be more dynamically posed, but its not bad at all.  If this were on a cover I'd be inclined to buy the comic.  I love how Bizzarro is focusing on a spot infron of Superman, causing his eyebeams to miss.  I love all the stuff going on in the background, it reminds me of a Kev O'Niel drawing.

I agree with Jay about Bizzarros' look, too.  He has been drawn in all kinds of ways, and there isn't anything wrong with this way.

I'm generally not a fan of FQ as a super-hero artist, but I think he is a hell of a good artist.

I just figured he was cross-eyed.

I can't say it reminds me of JB's rendition, from what I remember of it.

I was merely suggesting that aging is a kind of deterioration (the word you initially used).

In any case, if you find the image dynamic, that's fine. I'm okay with that.  Not trying to prove anything; just stating my opinion on the piece.

I don't think it remotely looks like JB's take on the character. JB's looked hard, almost chalky. This one looks as if it is made from proofed bread dough.

But All Star Superman is outside continuity... the title has its own continuity. If it has some things in common with pre-Crisis Superman, Byrne's Superman or whatever Superman version you like then it's just a coincidence.

Bizarros are supposed to look roughly sculpted, at least their face.

While Quitely is a good artist and handles sequential storytelling well,
he still isn't what I would call a good fit for a superhero comicbook.
And he isn't the only one.
No offense to him or others, if it ain't a good fit it just ain't.

Yeah, he does look rather doughy.

On a different note, there's too much detail on Superman's hand.

This image is here for no other reason than that I think it's awesome--
