Surley you appreciate the difference between a miniseries* and something that takes years to build up a head of steam?

Could this also be said of the Avengers? I mean the JLA is a lot like the Avengers.

Yep. As if Claremont never left in 1991. With this difference that the stories take place in 2009, and that given most of what he originaly planned is well known, he does new stories.

Also from the issue itself and what Claremont posted yesterday on Comixfan, i suspect that the Muir Island saga may have had a different ending in the Forever continuity, one apparently the X-Men don't remember.

Claremont design the X-Men Forever continuity as 161.  That's not official though, that's how himself and the fans on the boards call it. As opposed to 616.

Nick Fury is also a member of the cast, and their official link to the government.

So everything in Uncanny count up to the middle of #279, when Nicieza took over the script, and X-Men 1-3 is in continuity too. X-Men Forever #1 is sort of X-Men #4.

Also, the 1991 stuff was "a few months ago".

Don't worry about the Jim Lee costumes, they will soon be gone.

By the end of the arc i understand the X-Men will have new costumes.

There will be long and short arcs. Motived by the story.

The first arc is 5 issues long but takes place in one night.

Then i understand issue #6 drawn by Paul Smith with inks by Terry Austin is self contained and about Logan & Nick Fury in World War 2.

Then in 7, 8 & 9 is a 3-parts arc drawn by Steve Scott.

Then Paul Smith and Terry Austin come back for issue #10

Tom Grummett second arc will begin with issue #11

It ships twice a month.

1 X-Men issue by Claremont every 2 weeks is something i, for one, am very happy with. A great pace if you want to build something. And believe me this books takes more than 5 minutes to read.

I picked up the first issue and absolutely loved it. It felt like the X-Men comic books I grew up with. If we continue to get stories like the first one, I'll definitely be buying this series.
