One of these days, Ben is going to catch up to Doom and Reed won't be there to hold him back. I pity Victor on that day. Great work. I really like Ben's squared off fingertips.

Great, great scene! Hurts just thinking about the full stories were missing. As always, thanks for sharing JB.

Another WOW! moment and piece... and by Dog, do I want more JB FF? YES I DO!
At the risk of getting accused of heresy, much as I love Kirby, when it comes to FF (and their support & villains galleries) I'll take JB over Kirby any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.
Congrats to one very lucky commissioner!

I love this piece, especially the call back to Spider-Man's cage from Amazing Spider-Man number one. Tells me right off that this is in the Fantastic Four's headquarters and Dr. Doom is using Reed's equipment against the team (also tells us that Dr. Doom is smart enough and familiar enough with Reed's technology to use it effectively). So much depth to the thinking behind this page. Geez, I can even tell that Alicia is blind. That's hard to do.++ Just noticed Doom all cool and collected going for his gun while hitting the keyboard to (presumably) zap Alicia to the Negative Zone. •• Well, hopefully the owner of the piece will come along and fill you in on the story he had in mind for this!

Wait - that's not Alica! It's Flash Thompson turned into a blind woman for pretending to be Spider-Man!

Two years.
Remember they can't meet deadlines anymore.
JB Just out of curiosity how long did this take for you to finish?

Jim Warden has forbidden me to reveal how much time I spend on these.
A Very Sad Thing has happened in this Bizniz in the past 30 years or so -- mostly in the past 20. When I joined Marvel, I very quickly became "famous" for my speed. "Wow! He turns out three pages a day, full pencils, and they're all so good!" Then the market shifted, and "growing roses" was sold to people with brains the size of unborn peas. Somehow, speed was automatically a sign that the work must be inferior. Like, you know, those hack speedsters Jack Kirby and Joe Kubert.sigh

Jaw meets floor! Thank you very much, JB, it's beautiful!
The "idea" I had for this was a story in which Dr. Doom, to show that he is intellectually superior to Mr. Fantastic, kidnaps the Thing and Alicia in order to "cure" Ben and restore Alicia's sight. The remaining members of the Fantastic Four arrive to rescue them and now you have an enraged Thing over Alicia being put in harm's way.
Not the most creative of ideas, but it's something that appealed to me. JB's art to me is very dynamic and not just a bunch of talking heads. I thought I might have been asking for a bit much in my request, but the detail is amazing, as well as the emotions. The Thing isn't just mad because he's fighting Dr. Doom, but mad at someone he cares about being put in harm's way.

The best part about JB's commission isn't the outstanding art, it's the story they tell. I almost feel like I just read an FF comic! Wow.
