With the two runs Neal had in the X-Men and the Avengers and how his and Roy's stories influenced almost everyone after them, it is hard to imagine him not being mentioned! As for Timely - Marvel, yes, I am aware of what William says, but someone should explain to me why Marvel bothered to celebrate 20 years in 1981, 25 years in 198 etc and now they have "discovered" they are almost as old as DC. Or why we have an expression "Marvel age of comics". Marvel means more than a change in name...

I have to question whether Neal Adams belongs on this list. On an all-time
Comic Book Hall of Fame? No question about it. But in my opinion, Adams
simply didn't have enough work at Marvel to be considered a Hall of Famer.
••
There's a whole "generation" of us who came in after Neal, who still
dwell in his shadow. He may not have racked up the page count, but when it
comes to Marvel, I would say he is up there with Kirby in terms of influence.

Good to know, JB. I appreciate the feedback. I guess I've always thought of Neal Adams as being a DC guy through and through.

Adams had defining runs (albeit short) on X-men, Avengers, Conan (and some other stuff). Even at DC it was never an issue of volume, but impact. Which is why Steranko should be there as well.
But this kind of cockeyed list is nothing new. The cynic in me would tell you that all the greats on that list are just an excuse to put the current "Golden Boys" in the Hall of Fame so Quesada can hype their current line-up. Kirby, Ditko, Lee and the others are just there to prevent people from noticing that some of these newcomers to the Hall of Fame are lightweights. So far at least.

........
The cynic in you would be right. How many of these guys even have five
years of work under their belts.Hall of famers should have preformed
their jobs at a high level for at least several years. There should be no one
on the list who can't meet a deadline. That would thin the herd of new
guys quite a bit.
Quitely and Suydam but no Stern or Andru. Insanity!!

They mention editors, but they don't mention DENNY O'NEIL???!!!!
Denny's the guy that let Frank Miller write Daredevil and edited the canon that became Frank's claim to fame!
He also edited some dOOd named Byrne on some title or another, too...

Also Dan Green, Rick Leonardi , Ann Nocenti, Bob Brown and Bob Mcleod, Frank Robins and Frank Springer as well. looks like they left off a lot of names that should be there.

I didn't even think about editors. I was to preoccupied with the horrible
ommisions of artist and writers. Another reason Stern should be there.

It's like the Baseball Hall of Fame - once you set the bar to low everybody deserves to be in. And including far to many contemporaries sets the bar much to low.

perhaps their intent was to generate controversy...thus
heat, and maybe sales and/or foot traffic.

No David Michelinie is psychotic. For a whole generation of kids, he, McFarlane, Larsen and Bagley WAS Spider-Man.
