Bill S. is on the list BTW but Andru's ommission I take very personally. He introduced Spider-Man to everyone  my age. Stern's  absence is just wrong.

Bernie Wrightson's work was some early 70's horror - the Man-Thing in particular.

***********

I own almost every appearance of the Man-Thing and except for a Hulk cover I don't remember Berni ever drawing him.

And yeah, if Wrightson is on there how in the hell can you leave out Roger Stern?

Bernie did DC's Swamp Thing. Mike Ploog did Man-Thing.

I think there's actually a lot of folk left off of there that are so simply because it seems to be based about 70% on "impact" (ie: the liefields of the list) , & about 20% "obviousness" (No list is truly going to miss a Kirby or Lee!

But if you were to take this stuff seriously - Which obviously is impossible in lists like this - You've gotta think that the likes of Stern have been left off simply through a lack of "obviousness" to the compiler.. For instance: How many great Marvel books have you read with Ralph Macchio's name on it?

These sort of lists are never gonna include the Paul Ryan's of the world, doesn't matter how many FF issues he did, or Ron Lim on the Silver Surfer. I take them all with a pinch of salt. Like when I read that "Pet sounds is the greatest album ever"

At least Ploog is on there. But that points out one of the failings of this list: PLoog, talented as he was, made didn't do a lot of longtime work for Marvel yet Ster was a company man for years and Andru defined the look of Spider-Man for an entire generation.

Some people listed here (which I won't name), I just don't get.  But the absence of Roger Stern I really don't get.  That's an egregious oversight.

Well, the compiler is a doofus.  How could he or she not be aware of his Cap and Avenger runs, if nothing else?

What an odd list. Including Neil Gaiman for writing a handful of mini-series
makes it hard to take it seriously, and some of the newer guys have less
than five years' worth of Marvel work under their belts.

It's fine to include folks like Neal Adams and Jim Steranko who had relatively
small outputs at Marvel, but it kind of waters down the Hall of Fame concept
when so many of these guys came on board from the late 1990s onward.

Can't see how certain people are on this list and Carlos Pacheco isn't.

If anyone were to be serious about a Marvel or Comic Book Hall of Fame, I would hope they would at least model eligibility somewhat on the sports HOFs and not whatever was used for this silly list.
