Just reading that Andrew Stanton of Pixar's next project
is a live action adaptation of John Carter of Mars (good
luck with the nudity). A quick perusal of Google images,
while producing a lot of interpretations, left me kinda
disappointed in really capturing the characters
descriptions in the book. Kinda surprising considering
the iconic status of the book and it's influence on so
much future SF and comic books (including Superman).
Just wondering if JB's ever done some JCOM drawings?

JB did the cover to John Carter #18 of the Marvel series, the interiors of which was the first work of one Frank Miller.

He also did a commission last year of Dejah Thoris which was really nice. Tried to find it in the commissions section but couldn't remember what it was titled.

I always found the Michael Whelen Paperback covers to be the best versions of these characters. I tried to post a picture of a cover but my friends in power over here have blocked access to image searches but if you have never seen these covers, look them up. They are fantastic.

Okay, I found an image.Ha, they can't block everything.
Every cover in the series is fantastic. This is for the first book.
I found this page with what looks like images from the other books but they are blocking me again so I can't be sure.

Okay, one more. This was always one of my favourites. Always wanted to meet Thuvia.

Yeah I saw the Frazetta stuff obviously, but when I say
I was disappointed it's because while a lot of the art
is "good" they still didn't capture the descriptions
from the book. For example Frazetta's Dejah Thoris
doesn't exactly have the red skin described in the book.
