I was thinking about this today (after seeing Watchmen... hurmmmm) that there's not many male superheroes with red hair. Or at least many that come to MY mind.

I can think of Jimmy Olsen, Rorshach... that's about it. I'm not claiming to be an authority on this, so I'm asking to be educated. I would have thought given that JB is strawberry blonde that he might have invented a few... maybe he did and I've forgotten. Memory is not what it was.

And if there aren't many ginger-haired (male) superheroes out there... why do you think this is?

Hurmmmm.

Yeah, I had a vague notion of him... he started out as a villain then became good, right?

I don't know the X-Men that well.

Wally West/Kid Flash is another. It makes sense, I
guess. In the real world red heads are relatively rare
compared to brunettes and blondes, so why not in the
comic world? I'm sure there's some other technical
reason or another though.

Hyperion, Son of Satan, Guardsman, Guy Gardner, Red Star

Also, Daredevil is a redhead, isn't he?

On the female side, of course, there's Crystal, the original silver age
Hawkgirl, and Leeja Clane (although she, like Lana Lang, more properly
qualifies as a girlfriend). No doubt others can add to the list. But I guess I
shouldn't have bothered, since you specifically specified male superheroes.

I think Wally West had brown hair until Marv Wolfman and George Perez's
The New Teen Titans; then, suddenly, he was a redhead.

Yeah, Medusa as well.

I specified male as being a female redhead is not a stigma that being male sometimes is. (In England anyway).
