I used to get letters to SHE-HULK from the girlfriends of the guys who were
buying it. They said how much they enjoyed my portrayal of Jen -- how,
sure, she had enormous boobs, but they were real boobs. The
responded to movement and gravity. I was surprised to learn how much this
-- something I was delighted to be drawing! -- was appreciated!

The reference to me inking this issue because it was "late" is actually the
opposite of what was true, btw. In the issues of my absence, the book had
slipped so far on the schedule that when Renee asked me to come back I
said I could do so only if I did breakdowns until there were enough issues in
the drawer to make up the shortfall.

"NOW MAYBE ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WROTE IN TO SAY HOW TICKED OFF THEY WERE WHEN YOU STOPPED USING THIS STUFF IN NAMOR..."

I have to admit I was disappointed that you stopped using the duo-shade in Namor. As I've said on this board before, I loved the duo-shade art in Namor. Strangely, in this ish of She-Hulk I prefer the 'cleaner' art of the first couple of pages (not that the duo-shade art isn't still very attractive).

Was there any particular reason, JB, why you stopped using the duo-shade in the one title and switched over here for She-Hulk?

This was magnificent! The best tongue-in-cheek writing I've read in a long, long time - and the writer-vs-editor page is the best of all. I think people should use "Bones of my grandfathers! What treachery is this?" in meetings at the office at least once a day. Bloody good entertaining read, Mister B. Bravo. Is there a collection of any sort of this run available at all?

I was in a comic book store just a couple of days ago that I've only been in a few times and asked the guy at the counter the same question.  He went to the back and came out with with a stack of 40+ (Sensational She-Hulk issues #5 through #48).  "How much?" I asked.  "For you, twenty bucks!".

Classic Byrne for less than $.50 an issue!  :)

There was a TPB of Byrne's original run, with an introduction that is woefully out of print.
