Hey you can just make a team of pretty much unused Defenders (I'm not counting guest appearances and mini-series).

Lila Cheney. Frankenstein's Monster. D-Man. Darkstar. Firelord. Brought together by chance, bound together by fate. Marvel Comics presents: The Outcasts.
EDIT: Wow, 1000 posts. Only took me about half a decade.

QUOTE:
Not to answer for Paulo, but the character's name is Dusk (I got that from right-clicking as if to save the picture). |

Good thing you did, cause I missed Anthony's question. Dusk, btw, is an identity assumed by Spider-Man when he was in the Negative Zone; then when he left, some other guy took it up.

Yeh, okay. Another line-up for me, which I personally think would work from a "writing" perspective, if'n I had the chance:
SUICIDE SQUAD (core group): The Unknown Soldier (unknown as yet how old he is, is he immortal, ect) is the leader of a new Suicide Squad consisting of main members the Black Spider, KG Beast, Iron Monroe, and new female character. The Soldier will probably turn out to be Rick Flag SR., having taken on the role sometime back in 1958. Anyway, the Black Spider could be ready for stardom. Iron Monroe is a way to have Superman without the trappings. KG Beast is just a great name, and he's the wild card.

Marvel
1. Nightcrawler and Longshot team-up book. I see them swashbuckling around the globe, perhaps even with a treasure hunting theme, with an occasional romp around the Mojoverse. I'd even be open to a revamped Dazzler if done right.
2. Valkyrie, Black Knight and Sersi. I see them as a loose, "Defenders-like" team of heroes sent by Dr. Strange into various "high fantasy" dimensions to combat evil mystical threats not quite big enough to warrant his direct attention.
DC
Dr. Midnight series set in the 40's. I know very little about this character, but I've always liked him. We also need more superhero stories set firmly in the noir eras.

The sequel to MODOK'S 11...THE RED GHOST'S RAIDERS
Red Skull brings together these guys to steal the Sacred Orb of Ra from the Sphinx. Course I imagine all these characters are screwed up or dead, but whatever. Key: Diamondhead, Ape-Man, Red Ghost, Darkoth, Madame Hydra (Ex-Hydra), Spymaster, and the Fly.
A suicide mission?

Here's another team of heroes... I decided to build this one with
supporting chartacters from other books...
I think Samson would lead the team... perhaps the theme of the book is
he's trying to get away from a career based around the Hulk.
EDITED: Decided to add the Silver Centurion instead-- the idea is that
someone besides Tony is operating the armor-- maybe a woman! But
who? That mystery could be a fun story arc.
