BL's inks always make my mind refer to Mike Decarlo,
who, I was sure was a pen name while he worked over
Aparo.

Wasn't that Dan DeCarlo's brother?

One of my favourite issues as a kid.
Back in the day it was so great to find an unexpected Byrne issue.
(pre-internet, no Previews, no hype)
You search through a stack of comics at the flea market
or go through the spinner rack, and BAM, "Whoah, Byrne art!!!"
And JB's art would show up anywhere, Avengers, Marvel Team-up, Hulk Annual?!?
Perfect example is Spider-Man Annual #13 (vs. Doc Ock) with inks by Terry Austin! Treasure.
I would buy comics just for the cover if it had JB art.

Only in the previous post Joe?
(What about my remarks about politics, birth control, evolution, death penalty, or um... cake?)
Talk about fair-weather friends. Sheesh. :)

This issue is still a favorite.

I always liked Candy Southern. She didn't appear that much, but she was a
love interest who seem to have a lot of confident in herself and her
relationship with Angel. A girl fawning over her man, but Ice-Man was the
only one getting jealous.

I was glad she turned up in the Hidden Years.

Lars reminded me that the first time I ever saw this Hulk annual was in a greek edition which had two stories inside (it was published monthly and usually featured two annuals), the second being Amazing Spider-Man annual #13.
You can imagine two Byrne drawn stories in one comic were a real treat!
