"THING FIST...COMING AT ME! NO!"
I mean really, Johnny...that's embarrassing.
Claremont sure knew how to wimpify. Good grief.

"Thing Fist Coming at Me! No!!"
Probably the best example of when JB says "No time to duck, only time to talk about it!"
Incidentally....I really didn't care for his rendition of Super Skrull above. He clearly improved it by the time he used him in AF#9, though!

God, that coloring style they used for a time really screws up some great artwork. The original MTU was much more pleasing to the eyes...

I actually had a fondness for the Flexographic colors. I really liked the brightness that they added. Though I do see how the incessant blotches (as shown on the floor when Super-Skrull debuts) can be annoying.

Vinny, I didn't mind it when that coloring was used for new stories and actually dug the vibrancy of it on some stories (Most striking for me in an issue of Captain America featuring Batroc!), but seeing now, as used on reprints completely detracts from the original effectiveness of the art.

"Thing Fist Coming at Me! No!!" ***********
Is that comic-book writing for the blind?

I remember leaving this on the shelf because the cover
was ugly. The next issue was awesome, tho!

Dave Hunt had a very unique inking style.

The Super Skrull would be even more deadly if he attacked opponents while
invisible. I guess that would make him a bit too tough to defeat though.

You're right, Wallace.
And he wouldn't have any problems in using his force fields in an aggressive way, either.
But I think one good reason for him being visible more of the time (besides giving us something to see) is that his ego always makes him "show off" in the end.

I've always liked how cleanly inked this run was. What ever happened to Dave Hunt?

I loved those old Marvel Team Ups. Why doesn't Marvel reprint them?
