Slightly Smaller than 20x30 inches
The proportions of a wraparound cover are slightly different than those of a
comicbook page turned on its side, so at 20x30, this image came out the
right height, but a bit short on width. With the customer's agreement, I
extended the art somewhat, on each side (and a little bit down the middle),
but also cropped about an inch and a half from the width of the board.
200dpi full size image en route to Christos as soon as I post this!

Say, was this cover the first time that Phoenix and Jean Grey were portrayed as separate, uh, entities?

Yes, this is a recreation -- the first at this scale!

I can almost feel the heat from that one,,, lucky customer, hope it gets "lost" in the mail and somehow ends up on my doorstep....always a treat to see the new pieces you put together Mr. Byrne, great job as usual.
Dave.

Interesting to compare the original to
THIS, done some 20 years later in a collector's
sketchbook.

Up yer arse, Chaykin!!
Having said that, and as pretty as this is (love how you draw Nightcrawler), it's such a straight recreation of your art at that time, that you can see just how much you have improved over the years.
John, did you try and replicate Terry Austin's inks?
