I was admiring this cover recently, and a few questions popped into my head:
Did you design 'old' Wolverine? I love the look, especially the jacket and white sideburns <g>.
Was this cover easy to design? I love the way the logo became part of the wall itself, and the fact that the posters are at an angle.
Did Terry used brush or pen when inking your pencils?

1) Yup
2) Yup -- tho I had to fight for it. Shooter was opposed to anything that
broke, crossed, or otherwise messed with the logo, despite mountains of
evidence showing such tricks invariably led to a boost in sales. (Shooter was
opposed also to final splash-page appearances of the villain, something else
shown to boost sales. The best sales I got on any two issues of FF,
excluding the one with the X-Skrulls, was the first appearance of Terminus,
who came in with a full page splash, and broke the logo on the next issue!)
3) Terry worked almost exclusively with a crowquill pen.

I had a feeling Shooter might've had input into the cover designs <g>.
I also liked 135, with Phoenix grabbing the logo (which reminded me a bit of the Adams Living Monolith cover). Anyways, I appreciate your cover work, past and recent; it shows that you put alot of thought into the layout/design before putting pencil to paper.

I agree. Both those X-men logos were great. I also like how JB has the characters interacting with his signature in the commissions. The Iron Fist 14 re-imagining with Sabertooth slashing JB's signature was a great touch.

If this image is not going to boost sales for the incoming issue, I can't figure
what is going to do it.
This is one of my most remembered images of JB's run on X-Men, and I
doub I'll forget it ever. It made me really anxious to get the next issue.

Man, I loved that Magneto page. I remember seeing it for the first time and just staring in awe. It was just so beyond what I had seen in comics in the past.

Even more than that last page I liked seeing Magneto's shadow on The Beast's back a few pages earlier. I only knew Magneto from a Captain America annual at that point, but I instantly recognized him by the helmet and it made me feel really "with it".

Love that Kirby Krackle! JK drew excellent powers in use, but JB really let you see the power "at rest" or about to coalesce into use. My all-time favorite Storm is this one at the Canadian mall where she gets ready to open up some whupass:
