At least they did the corner box on the Spider-Man issue in b&w. I think the color logo actually works on that one (makes the b&w stand out even more to my eye!). The Alpha cover suffers a bit bc the corner box is full of colors (including a pink background!)

I would like to see the Spider-Man pose with the way JB does cityscapes and windows NOW.  That would be really Spectacular!

The only SPECTACULAR issue I miss. Sigh.

Anyway, the cover was used in Italy for a different story. But, as you can see, there was some more color...

I was so bummed when I opened the book to realize JB didn't illustrate 101.  Dang!

The cover to PPTSSM# 101 shows why I think the black & white costume is actually superior to the classic costume (which I love).  It's just a better design - far more elegant and powerful.

I think this costume was a perfect successor and I wish it was still around not for movie gimmicks.

There should be a word for that feeling. I experienced it many many times in my early days.

I'm not sure that would work as well. The "busy-ness" of the windows
might break the subjective contour too often, destroying the effect. And if
the "busy-ness" was itself broken around the figure, to avoid that, it might
create a kind of "halo".
