I don't know what it is about JB's Captain America but -- like Kirby -- his CA is patriotic without being political or square. Dunno how else to put it.

Were I EIC at Marvel, my first order of business is to offer Mr. Byrne and Mr.
Stern a chance to finish their incredible Cap run.

Brilliant. Just the way Cap should be -- fun, without any hint of archness.

Inspiring.

All it takes is believing in the character. Kirby did. I do. Too many today do
not.

Love it, and I really enjoy the occasional half-body, zoomed in shot instead of full-body character commissions.  Brings a different feel to the work, especially for someone like Cap that's been done a few times before.

Very nice rendition of Cap!

I agree. If written badly, Captain America can become a symbol for anything and everything one can be critical of in the US Government (and Cap in those cases really seeming nothing more than a mere servant of the government). When written "correctly" or well (the Stern / Byrne run leaps to mind), it is ALL about the American dream, and at the root of that dreams are some pretty darn good ideals. Now, America may not always live up to those ideals, but it certainly doesn't mean that Cap shouldn't be a symbol of them. IMHO.

Outstanding work! I love this one! It's probably my favourite of your recent commissions!

I love this. The commissions always look good, but I've been absolutely wowed by them for the last year or so.
