I confess to having never heard of him until now. I'm ashamed. I really like what I see here. Is there a chance that this guy was an influence for Alan Davis, cause that's what I can see in most images...

I think I remember seeing  Alan name him as an influence. I think it shows in Alan's work.

That Superman figure seems to show a mix of 50s (EC era) Frazetta and Wood, possibly Williamson as influences. Interesting choice. It's not as apparent in his later work.

I loved Newton's work.  His paintings were wonderful.

Ceasar,

Thanks for posting those scans!  When Newton first came over to DC, his art was just too different from what had come before for me to fully appreciate it (Poor guy had to follow Aparo on Aquaman, and Rogers on Batman!), but I quickly learned to love it.
