The Nova's ark figures are cool. The parts connect with magnets, kinda like Baron Kaza,...
The only thing bad that I rember about them is that the magnet connections are a little flimsy.
There was a series of different figures, as well as the book/figure combo. I bought an extra one a little while ago at one of our discount book stores, so it's still out there.
The robot Carl from the movie Meet the Robinsons is pretty cool:
