Hmm. I've barely ever seen him ink himself...that Batman/Hellboy piece is very nicely inked! Just look at the fine details and you'll see what I mean. And the rare times I see him draw non-Marvel characters, it's as if he "made" them Marvel characters, particularly Batman.

For the record, I didn't really care for him on X-Men. I just thought he wasn't properly "cast" for the book, that's all. And I think he ould use some improvement in the costume-designing department. But I can't deny that he's majorly talented....definitely deserving of the "Modern Masters" tag. Daredevil is where he really started to shine.

Vinny,

The Hellboy/Batman piece was inked by John Dell as a gift to its owner, Tim
Townsend. Check his CAF gallery for the original pencils:

Link.

Edited to say: Gerry, great page! But this sample shows what I commented
before, that imho modern inkers doesn't fit so well as classic, even if it's a
great work like in your page.

Always loved Al Williamson and Dan Green on JRjr, but thought that Janson
overpowered him too much. Of course, anything Janson inks looks like
Janson...

HA!

I thought that Batman/Hellboy looked like Howard Porter!

John Dell, of course!

I don't think Janson was really the right choice for Thor but he was perfect with Jr. on PWZ.
