On the subject of Modern Masters, it's really a great series, isn't it? I love the
artwork and the interviews. I need to pick up the Lee Weeks edition at some
point.

I've been a fan of JRjr's since I first read Man Without Fear which he and Frank Miller did together to revamp DD's origin. Ever since then I try to read everything with his name on it. His art is amazing.

I don't think there's anyone better in the industry at storytelling.
You could take the words out of any book that JRjr has done and what is
happening would still be crystal clear.
Even individual panels, with no other context, the storytelling comes
through plain as day.

Man Without Fear was great. I wish Jr. would reprise Daredevil. Not that he can't draw other characters well but, to me, DD just seems like his character.

I thought I had picked up all the MMs I was gonna get (I got Perèz last week and JB's and Walt Simomson's yesterday) but I'll have to get this one too.
It's a crime they haven't reprinted his complete run on Daredevil.

JRJR is an incredible talent. I LOVE his work.
If you haven't seen what he's doing in KICK-ASS, you're missing out. Amazing acting and action to be found inside those covers...

I'm a huge fan. He's easily my favourite living penciller.
There's a real Kirby vibe for me with JRJR's modern stuff in that his work is just so distinctive & always so dynamic & atmospheric & I agree with others that his evolution as an artist has been fascinating to watch, starting with what I consider to be a vastly under-rated & great run on DD & leading to his Spider-Man being THE modern Spider-Man in my opinion. I look back at his older X-Men & ASM work with a certain level of nostalgia, as they were books I grew up reading & enjoying (despite the awful hairstyles & clothing!), but also with a strange sense that he is an artist that has grown as I have grown, & with the minimum of fuss or fanfare, has become the modern equivalent of Kirby.. sure, no one is "the new" Kirby, no one compares, but in the here & now, for me & during my lifetime, JRJR would be as close as it gets for giving me those same type of goosebumps when I see a new project of his, WHATEVER he might be working on or whether I even like the book itself!

It's curious that imho, the best embellishers for JR jr are classic artists like
Tom Palmer, Klaus Janson and Al Williamson. They are the perfect combo for
his style. Modern inkers like Miki or Townsend did a great job in Eternals,
but it never reached the level of excelence of series like Thor/Kick Ass, DD
or Hulk.
BTW, talking about combos, this sample (Avengers ann #16) was inked by
Sienkiewicz.

Wow, BS on JR Jr? A Jr. Hellboy? Will wonders never cease? (Though, the gun hand is a bit too bulky, and the gun not detailed enough).
