I have this on hold in NC, waiting on it to be shipped with FX6 and the new Assignment Earth.
JrJRr is one of the best. I've met him multiple times in Charlotte and always a class act and very FUNNY. He interacts with the children so well. He's always smiling and will even sign 50 plus issues of Starbrand #1, i swear i seen him do it!
His run on Amazing is second only to his Dad's in my opinion.
Sadly, i dont buy any current Marvel, I stopped right after JrJr's Eternals, which i thought was amazing to look at but fell kind of flat.

Thanks for the heads up. Still haven't gotten around to buying any of the Modern Masters volumes (I know, shame on me), but this one just made it to the top of that list (a place shared with the JB volume and the Perèz volume). Need to get me some of this goodness for sure.

I remember not being too fond of his work on X-Men but now I'll buy anything with his name on it. The guy's got serious talent!

Great addition to a great series of books from TwoMorrows. Watching Romita's evolution as an artist has been amazing.

Interesting, I feel just the opposite. I think his best was the X-Men run with Dan Green on inks. I find recent stuff to be very Frank Miller-esque (which is still wonderful, but boxier than he used to draw).

There this definitely a "thickness" in JR's current work that was not present in his
early days. But even if we were to view this as a problem -- which I most
emphatically do not -- the leaps and bounds he has made in everything else are so
amazing they obliterate anything that might be considered a shortcoming.
I'd be very happy if someone told me I was going to draw like Johnny when I grow
up!

Thanks for the heads-up, JB; I just placed my order. My first exposure JRJR's
work was an issue of The Amazing Spider-Man that featured the Hobgoblin.
It may have been the character's first appearance, but I can't remember for
certain. The artwork was fantastic, so it was on to Iron Man and whatever
else he did (and might do).

John Romita, Sr.'s work is indeed amazing! For a long time, I made the
mistake of constantly comparing Jr.'s art to his father's, and so didn't
appreciate the quality of his work. I do now.
