I like it! Works for me! (Not that that's what matters, of course...)

The most common word would be "sak", or "saken" in definite form, but it lacks a certain something. There's a somewhat more archaic word which could possibly have worked better "tingest",* or definite form "tingesten", but I could understand why they wouldn't have gone with that either.
* You can also see traces of this in the Swedish translation for "something" which is "nagonting" (the "a" in the word should have a circle over it though, but since typing those letters would probably result in some weird line of signs, I'll just mention it rather than showing it).

Oops! Just spotted Mikael's little explanation (so apologies for the double Swedish course "thing" there). The explanation for not using the name both makes some sense and not at all somehow. By which I mean, it obviously worked in the English context without being confusing, so why would it confuse us more?
Did not know that the Addams Family Thing was called "Saken" in Swedish, but then again that was before my time.

Not necessarily.
We've seen drawings posted here that "fell out of your pencil" before, so what's to stop you from having a Thing vs. Thing scene "fall out?" It's not to rub anyone's nose in something "better," but if your preference was to do it in your current style, I don't see what's to stop you from doing it as an exercise since you are the artist.
Would it be telling the customer "here's how I could have done it better!" if you were commissioned to do the same scene in your current style?

JB, I really like your version of the early FF Thing.
Is it easier to draw the melted wax looking Thing or the rocky plates style Thing?

Nice recreation. I vote for some nod to Sinnott's inks.

Truly amazing. I would dearly love to see JB work on a Thing-related project again. And I also vote for some mention of Joltin' Joe Sinnott on the piece.

Wow.woke up this morning and was delightfully surprised to see my commission request on display. It turned out great JB. Always been in love with this page and the original has always eluded me. Will be very happy to give this one a home. Thanks much
