That modernised old style Thing looks REALLY scary. Sort of makes me
wonder if I've ever seen Mr Grimm looking so monstrous!
••
Scary as it might be -- on a scale of one to ten maybe not so much -- my
version of the Thing there still fell a long way short of how Kirby drew him in
FF1. Altho the King "humanized" Ben pretty fast over the next few issues, in
that initial outing he really was a "thing".
Wish he coulda stayed like that!

I like the modernized version best.
Thanks Ferran!

Very nice work.
I would have to think that staying as faithful to the original as you did, it must have taken considerably longer than if you laid it out on your own and went with what hit the paper, so to speak. Can you give us an idea, roughly, of the difference in time this might have taken?

I didn't really time myself. But, most of these 11x17 pieces are one-day
jobs, and this one I started yesterday and finished this morning.

JB, that recreation is astounding. Even the cracks in the flooring are spot-on!
I agree, the commissioner here should be extremely happy.

Since you're stating that you're recreating your old pencils AND Joe Sinnott's old inks - is it customary to give a "after Joe Sinnott" dedication on the piece? I'm not aware of any strict protocol when it comes to crediting inkers.

I wondered about that.

I'd say it falls to how strongly you believe he influenced the art. It's definately your call.

Might be a nice nod to the original and would be a very courteous gesture.
