I hope everyone wasn't just waiting for the trade, but if they were, good news for trade sales, Wayne!

I got my 6.
Congrats, Wayne.
Like a Grandma, I am very proud of you.
Like a comics reader, I am pretty psyched about FX.
Like a JBeFFer, I am like, "Did Wayne just f#$%^' pull
that off for real??!"
Again, congrats!

I really liked this. I got issues 1-6 and will also be buying any collection. What sold me on it, initially was of course JB's art, but what would make me want to follow FX further even without JB was the following:-
1) Good spiritedness, and all age suitable content. I *can* actually share this with my 12 and 9 year old daughters....unlike, say, 95% of the Marvel/DC product.
2) I could even give copies of this to my friends comic mad son, and he'll get 1-6 from me when I get the trade paper back.
3) Several nifty twists on use of powers.
4) FX! and his chums characters.
5) The Aegis: wow!
I wish I knew how much this cost so I could consider re-mortgaging, and trying something similar.

From Neil's post: ""FX,"
the series by Wayne Osbourne and John Byrne from IDW, saw its last
issue drop out of the Top 300...."
*****
Is that accurate? The most recent sales figures I could find showed issue 4 (from June) with 3,443 which ranked 272nd. To fall out of the top 300 two months later seems......odd. Also, my comic shop was well-stocked with each issue so it seems extra strange to me. I still think the hype machine (IDW?) really missed a great opportunity with this series. The story behind how this series came to exist, who Wayne Osborne is and his connection to John Byrne I think most fans would've found intriguing and would've wanted to check it out.

Hey, JB and WO get to live the dream, having fun creating comics. Rich Johnston gets to look on jealously, hiding behind juvenile witticisms.

Joe H,
I don't exactly know how the top 300 works but it's based on the sales of
Batman each month. The month in question, "something" happened in
Batman - maybe the Morrison stuff started. I don't know, don't read
Batman. Anyway, that raised the cut off for the 300th issue which was
around 4000+ issues.

With the right people doing it properly, that could be a LOT of fun. With the wrong people though.... *shudder*

I would think that there's good chance for this particular comic to seel well in TPB. Provided that book stores will stock and keep it in a section where kids and parents can also easily find it. It is after all good clean fun.
And for the record, I couldn't wait for the TPB (and that's been a while since that happened) and will still be getting it. Partly because I like having this particular comic in TPB format as well (visible on my shelf), and partly because I think Wayne's creation deserves a good deal of support. Had I been living in an English speaking country, I'd be getting copies of the TPB as X-mas gift for just about any kid I know (alas, the language barrier stops that now).
Still very much looking forward to more FX (and Foundation and Homefront). And here's hoping we see some more collaborations between Wayne and JB somewhere down the line. But Wayne has certainly won me over as a fan of HIS superhero universe.

Wayne, will there be a new piece as the cover of the trade or are you using
one of the issue covers?
