Finished the series the other night. Great. A really FUN series. I look forward to future installments. Kudos, Wayne.

Nice article. Thanks for sharing it, Gerry! Will you and Greg be around for round 2? Really thought you guys did a great job with the colouring and hope to see your work again.

Joakim,
I never thought I would be lucky enough to color the artwork of my
without-a-doubt-all-time-favorite-comic-book-artist, John Byrne, in a PUBLISHED comic. Getting to color 5 of the 6 issues is beyond a dream. Working with Wayne and Gerry has been amazing, but I am enjoying my time away from the computer. Wayne is the brains of this outfit, so I am sure he will take great care of his baby.
I think I must work a lot slower than most colorists, because this really took a lot of my time. Maybe they just work a lot smarter than I do? At any rate, I can't say how grateful I am to Wayne for giving me this chance. I am very proud of to be part of this comic and to have had this wonderful experience. Hats off to all those involved!
Greg

Well hats off to some mighty fine colouring work, Greg and Gerry! And here's hoping to see your work some more in the future.

Did anyone see this in Comic Book Resources? I have the first five but #6 was not out when I got back to Canada. I hope my LCS put issue #6 away for me. I did not read the series because I wanted to read the whole thing and was planning to next summer.
SPECULATION CORNER
"FX,"
the series by Wayne Osbourne and John Byrne from IDW, saw its last
issue drop out of the Top 300, selling in the low four figures and many
issues sit, alone and unloved on shop shelves or 50c back issue bins.
This is an excellent opportunity for speculators to clean up.
At some point we are due a John Byrne revival in the next ten years,
and this recent work will be so much rarer than his better-selling Big
Two work. Also, "FX" is prime for a movie adaptation, someone taking
the basic idea and making a film around it.
So this is a long term speculation. Pick up whatever copies
of "FX" you can, cheap. Stick them in the basement. And wait. Making a
20x return on your investment is not inconceivable.

Anyone willing to take this idiot up on his advice, I'll also sell them a time machine back to 1996 and the crash of the speculator market. Fun times!

Wouldn't mind somebody taking his advice on that movie adaptation thing
though.

Wayne, I just read FX (I was waiting so's I could read the whole thing at once). I really liked it. Three thumbs up : ) There was just this sense of ... joy about it that made it a fun read. There's so few comics these days that have that since of joy about them. I could sense it in the writing and in JB's art too. Silverback was a great way to kick off the series - loves me some smart monkeys! Melvin and his Thinking Cap, Svengali, the Foundation. I really like the world you've created here. Looking forward to the second mini - and hoping we get more on that "Thunderbolt of Zeus" stuff!

Thanks, Kevin. How'd it all read in one sitting? Did it flow okay?

oh, yeah. It read fine. I actually read them while dong laundry and actually put off going from the washer to the dryer so I could read #4 : ) Nice cliffhangers - certainly having the next issue's cover was a good tease. 'specially for issue 4. FX helping the Foundation tackle Svengali is everything that's missing from Marvel and DC's super hero books right now.
