I always thought this was a nice redesign of the brown costume (except for all of those straps):

He also put about a dozen pouches on Scott's belt. One pouch I can understand (lens cleaner); twelve indicates a design choice.

True, though at least they were the streamlined, utility belt variety (though why Cyke would need those is anyone's guess, Troy's post notwithstanding); not the bulky kind.

On a related but different note, it just occurred to me how silly the cover of Adj-less X-MEN 1 suddenly looks (to me).

JB's post of the recent commission with the colors based on his original intent way back on page 1 make me think of a scene they would have had to have if they had gone with that color scheme where Cyclops asks him about the new costume and Wolverine explains that black is actually pretty easy to see in most environments/lighting conditions. Cyclops nods and says "and the bright red belt?" Wolverine smirks and says, "Gotta give 'em a chance, bud!"

(Bit of trivia for those who don't already know: Sabertooth has the face I originally suggested for Wolverine, during that year he didn't take his mask off. I was going for something that looked "Canadian", not knowing that Dave had already worked up a variation on the Timberwolf character he'd drawn in his days on the Legion.)

The first time I ever saw Timber Wolf, I thought "Man, this guy is a total Wolverine rip-off!" It was much later that I found out it went in the other direction.

8.) Travel Lent Brush...

Just exactly what did Cyclops give up for Lent that requires a brush?!?

He gave up the (occasionally dead) love of his life for a platinum blond super-villain.

Is that Lent brush or lint brush?

And is Jean dead these days?

Why would the most outcast, non-super hero, non-public group of heroes have such an overwhelming use of a logo?

Because their new status quo will not be outcast, and will be very public...they're being welcomed with open arms by the city government of San Francisco.

I think an Alpha Flight comission with Wolverine as a member, with appropriate costume alterations to fit the team's look, would be awesome.

I always liked the way JB presented Wolverines cowl as more of a helmet than a mask. This was best shown in X-Men #137 when we see the cowl restiing on a hook of some type while Wolvie is taking a bath.
