JB's HULK was the start of something great. Shooter was a damn fool.

Long before the days of Previews and the Internet... I remember walking to the local convenience store and being very disgusted to find this cover the following month. I hoped it was a fill-in issue...

Does someone have pics of the back-up story for JB's HULK #1?

That would be fun to post as an "extra" -- it would also interesting to look at the evolution of JB's HULK art.

Not me.  If someone wants to post them here, in next week's thread or in a thread of their own, that would be great!  I've never seen them.

JB's back-up story was mostly a bunch of big powerful panels that retold the Hulk's origin. I remember them being pretty awesome -- it was around 5 or 6 pages long...

I read this back in 1995 in the last issue of Marvel Megazine. It also had the Daredevuil story right after his battle with the Hulk and a JB FF story where the tall giant lady was drunk on oxygen. All in all a very cool little reprint story.

Wow...i believe that this is the second wedding in the Marvel Universe!

***

No -- besides Reed and Sue, we also had the Quicksilver/Crystal wedding and the Vision/Scarlet Witch and Swordsman/Mantis double wedding before this.

****

You are right Jason, i forgot those events!

As I see the last page of original art from Hulk #319, I am curious as to what was written behind the cut-out announcing next issue ? (which became the Marvel Fanfare issue)

Great issue !

The inks for this issue are so incredibly lush and textured.  Going back through this all too short run I think these 5 issues are some of my favorite inks ever.

I remember when issue #320 showed up in the commissary in the compound I lived on... I was more than a little bummed.  The total Avengers Vs Hulk issues coming up were pretty cool but I *really* wanted more of JB's Hulk.

EDIT

How cool it must be to own all of the original art for this or any JB issue.  To know that you hold in your hands the original pencil, ink and sweat that was reproduced hundreds of thousands of times around the world.
