Lesbian student omitted from yearbook due to wearing a tux

It's not as if I'm actually actively seeking out these articles either. I was on Yahoo and these were showing up in the news section. I guess it's good that more of these incidents are getting more press coverage but it still seems like we're stuck in a very narrow-minded world.

If only you could read what the catholic church is saying these days about gay couples adopting here in Mexico!!! One of those beast even asked the citizens of Mexico City "to do whatever they can" to stop the law. Hate is starting to run rampant here in the words of the men that preach "love and compassion"".

I've been hit on by women.  Beautiful women.  I don't tell them I'm not interested... I just squeal and giggle and that usually does it.  Why is that so hard, Joakim!??

That idiot who trolled onto the "Prop 8" thread, wtf?! While some may say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I agree with Harlan Ellison who has said "people are only entitled to their INFORMED opinion".

Trying to get someone to explain why they're against gay marriage beyond religious reasons (or reasons not built on a foundation of religion) is very hard to come by.

I'm conservative on some issues but when it comes to this, maybe I'm just dense but I don't see the problem. Two people who care about each other who want to get married has no negative impact on me. Just because I'm single, why should I deprive others?

I'm for smaller government but the "conservatives" in power seem to have no problem with larger government when it comes to dictating how people live their lives.

I read in the paper this morning, on the way to work, that a Florida court struck down a law that banned gay people from adopting children. That's wonderful news, especially since children in the foster care system don't exactly have statistics on their side. Having two straight parents doesn't mean children are going to turn out better. I know I'm a bit warped by the "experience".

===================

I can think of one statistic about foster care children is that almost 100% of them came from straight parents.  Seems like those straight parents failed or didn't really try.  It would seem like smart thinking to me to let two loving people (gay or straight) have a chance at raising and caring for these children.

Two thoughts on the Anti-Gay marriage crowd (Republicans)

1. Family values = I value my family more than yours.

2. Shouldn't we leave marriage up to the free market economy?  I guarantee you that market forces would legalize same sex marriage overnight....

more weddings equal more wedding planers & etc....

Assistant Michigan Attorney General harasses openly gay college student

This lowlife has a blog that defames the student, calling him a Satan-spawn and he goes on the student's facebook page and is basically cyberbullying him. However, the assistant AG is able to keep his job because Michigan law allows for state employees to openly express their political opinions after-hours. Since the student is running for student council, they have no problem with this.
