Well guys in another 50+ years we may catch up with everyone else! I mean really why worry about equal rights when the budget is all messed up? Sheesh.
I can only hope one day as a country we get our heads out of our butts and figures out that a Gay American = American = Equal Rights.

Hey Galecki - good on ya!
Wish more people looked at things this way. More, as in everyone.

Whew! Haven't been here in a while. I'm unable to post from home -- don't know what that's about -- but here at work, I still can (when I'm not doing report card comments like I'm supposed to) So pleased about Portugal! Despite the intervention of the Pope, they adopted it anyway! Hooray!

I'm so behind my Gay Podcast Listening, that i found out that Portugal approved same-sex marriage today!...whatta great news!....I'm glad that Pedro and all the brothers and sisters in Portugal now has the same option as we do.
I'm back from California. Our trip was amazing.Th consecration ceremony was beautiful and was history in the making, as they did consecrate their second openly gay bishop.
Later we attended a dinner with a group called "Integrity", that works for LGBT right in the Episcopal Church, got the chance to meet the first episcopal priest who outed himself in the 70's, the first gay bishop Gene Robinson and the newly second one, Mary Glasspool.
After that, we did drive to San Clemente, to set up the apartment and Vincent's new office. San Clemente is lovely...i can't wait to move there with my Hubby!

Belated, but nevertheless, congrats to Pedro and Portugal!
And Pedro, even if you don't plan to do something, I'm guessing that it's always nice to know that you could if you wanted to; in essence, to know that you're not singled out as some sort of second class citizen.

BTW, Juan, great photos you posted from your ceremony! I hope things work out well for you with the relocation. Perhaps an educational visa would be a good start while you look for work since that could buy you some time.

The educational visa is in our plans too, as a second option. While i try to get me a job, i'll be getting my documents and transcripts ready and if by october i don't get a job, i'll start applying to some university in San Diego or Irvine.

Juan It is just so sad and crazy you have to jump through hoops to be with your husband.
Yesterday something kind of scary happened. My husband is a bike rider and goes out and rides sometimes 50 miles, which I think is crazy. I hate that he goes out by himself , because if he ever wrecked or got hit I wouldn't even know where to look to find and help him. he carries a cell but if he is knocked out, it won't help.
Well anyway I get a call while I am doing my exercise of watching Mythbusters, and he is panicked on the phone. He tells me he came up on a guy that was laying down and not doing very well. He said he called for an ambulance, but he needed me to come out and get the guys bike and maybe give him a ride home if the EMT said it wasn't serious. He was an older guy and Chuck hoped he just had heat stroke.
On the way out, Chuck called and said they took the guy to the hospital. I got Chuck and the two bikes then we went to the ER to check on the guy, because Chuck had asked the guy his name, address and was there family he could call. Which the guy said he had no one here in town, which broke my heart.
We get to the ER and tell the registry nurse who we are and ask about the guy. They rush us back and put us in the room to see if we know more about the guy, that he was not doing well at all and had flat lined twice in the ambulance. We tell the nurse we have the guys bike and we would like to leave our number in case the guy needs anything.
we get ready to leave and we are in the lobby and a guy comes up and asks if the guy we were here for was Jack Fletcher. We explain it is and he explains he was in the ER with his mom who had broke her finger, but she had lived 2 houses down from the guys parents when she was little and knew this guys family and him. We waited for her and once she came out she was able to give the nurse a ton of info on the guy.
We told the nurse to call us if anything changed, which she did, they did emergency surgery and he was now in a room. She thought the gentleman would appreciate having someone with him. We went up , but when we got there his out of state family had arrived. We told them we still had his bike and gave him my husbands cell so he could call us if he ever needed anything or maybe a bike riding buddy. Chuck said the guy looked 100% better, so I hope he is one day back riding his bike.
So for anyone on here, please put in your wallet or have on you, a in case of emergency info of someone you know. Even if you are just friends with your contact person, it doesn't matter as long as that person knows where you live and who are your friends or family.
