I've found myself trying to throw love back out into the universe of late.  Admittedly, it's snarky love, but ya gotta start somewhere.

Example:  A couple of weeks ago my wife, son and I went up to Manhattan to visit a couple of friends and went to Central Park so Dylan could play and run around.  Walking back to their apartment, along Central Park West and 86th, this crazy bitch comes riding along on her bike, on the sidewalk, nearly runs into me and has the temerity to call me a fat something (didn't quite get the rest of it, but "fat" was plenty clear).  David, one of our friends, turns and as she rides off, starts yelling at her for riding on the sidewalk...me, I turn and yell, "I love you, too, lady!"

I think what we learn about people who hate (or are ignorant -- though I prefer "unenlightened") is that they're not going anywhere.  This thread is nearly two months old, long out-living many on this board -- even the "Presidential" thread seems to have disappeared for a while.  Perhaps our friend Jim is just sick of seeing the topic on the front page.  Whatever. 

People who carry the GOD HATES FAGS signs at soldier's funerals, or say nasty things on the street, or tie guys to fence posts, rape them, beat them and leave them for dead -- those are real worries. 

Some bozo who says some snarky one-liner?  Not so much.
