Glad to see this thread's still going!
Just a quick update from my part:
Arctic winds are freezing us over here, but i guess I can't complain since we're still above zero in Lisbon.
Started working on a TV show about social networks, youtube and computer games as an advisor (yay!!!) and started putting together some money so I can finally meet Ed next year! :)
Still haven't started my christmas shopping and am begining to worry about it LOL

Ubergeek/X-Men fan that I am, I got that right away. Ed, if that's the case, then that diet of yours has definitely worked wonders! ;-) D.C. approved the legalizing of gay marriage. Good for them. Though the two dissenting voters said they did so because of their constituencies opposition to it. Considering the Wards that they represent, the irony is astounding. Tom, are you and Eric going to (I don't know the proper term) register in D.C. or is your marriage automatically recognized?

Just a heads up on the subject of same-sex marriage: Tomorrow the Portuguese council of ministers will approve same-sex marriage legislation and all that will be required next is a voting of the assembly (simple majority is needed and simple majority is in favor of it). Next problem? Adoption by gay couples! The new legislation will say that same-sex couples cannot adopt and some argue (correctly in my view) that this will generate two types of marriages: 2nd rate married couples who cannot adopt and 1st rate, those who can. No equal rights! Others argue that soon after same-sex marriage is approved the adoption will forcibly have to be approved as well because it is against the constitution to bar married couples from adoption. So even though there is that no adoption clause i think it is still good news! :)

Still here...just finishing work for this year this week and helping my hubby with his marathonic work towards new year's eve. We have booked flight tickest to "Puerto Vallarta" in January, to see my father-in-law, and getting used to the idea of the changes that are going on in our lives.
Now i'm wondering if we could migrate to Germany, because even if we are married, i can't migrate so easy to USA.

Tom, are you and Eric going to (I don't know the proper term) register in D.C. or is your marriage automatically recognized? We already are in a legal domestic partnership -- which will be "upgraded" to marriage as soon as the bill passes through congress. Right....

Because Germany recognizes same sex marriage, for job opportunities, the Euro, the city, the beer, the sausages, the culture, the music, the opera, ...and the places to hang around for gays...and the germans! ;)

Arc, the sad truth is that most people have abandoned this thread for various reasons. We're all on Facebook talking about pretty much the same things. _______________________ That's bad news for me . Am I being too stubborn for not having a Facebook account?
