Like I've said here before, our new government will push during this legistalure for gay marriage. The socialist party won with relative majority so they'll need other parties's votes to make it work (it'll probably pass with other left wing votes).

But right wing parties are saying there should be a referendum on same sex marriage - a last resort for them, as they know if this were to happen it would not pass (unfortunately).

Why should there be a referendum when two guys or girls getting married has no impact whatsoever on anyone else's life? are their private lives that boring that they have to meddle in other people's?
