Is that your way of saying you don't want to talk about me, Moyer?

Sorry, work was hectic and after being in front of a computer most of the day, I don't like going right back on when I get home. I'm on Facebook once in awhile. On the plus side, I read an article this morning where a judge in California refused to dismiss a case challenging Proposition 8. The judge wants the proponents of Prop 8 to prove how gays marrying would harm "traditional" marriages. I'm not holding my breath on Obama overturning the DOMA and DODT. They keep saying "soon", which is usually code for "not until after the midterm elections". Great trend in Presidents we have had lately. Obama seems to be "all talk, no action". Bush was "can't talk, poor actions" and Clinton was "smooth talking, getting lots of action!"

Good one Jeremiah! I think we have to keep in mind Obama hasn't been in office a whole year yet either, but with a chance that he only has three more years before the next election, we want more done right?I was glad he reversed the stem-cell research blockade from the past 8 years. So that was a major step, and his big push is the health care reform. Hopefully when he's done with that DODT will be next on his plate. I think if the military had the slightest inkling of how many gays are in the, um, military, we would have a small earthquake country-wide from the collective jaws hitting the floor. There are rumors that DODT is on his agenda for next year. Lets hope. What should we talk about your person Al? I'm game, just give me some material...

The stem cell debate was always way too much encased in rhetoric rather than facts. Some of the cells that were to be experimented on were going to be disposed of anyway so it's not as if they were "killing" any potential life since it would have been a moot point anyway. I remember reading how one of the main interrogators at Gitmo was discharged because he was gay, nevermind that there are so few people in the military that are fluent in the languages the terror suspects speak in. I think Jon Stewart made the comment how if you are going to get them to talk, it sure won't be in English! Ever hear Eddie Izzard's take on having transvestites in the military? It was funny. He said imagine how the enemy would react to seeing that brigade marching down the street - fully color coordinated of course! I just don't see any negative impact to gays being more out in society. What two people do in private (as long as no one is being harmed) is no one's business but their own. Shouldn't negate what they do in their lives. Someone is a gay doctor, who cares? As long as they can diagnose and give proper treatment, what they do after hours is no concern to me.

My dad is retired Navy, after 30+ years and just this past weekend we talked about gays in the military. He definitely knew some guys who were gay, and had to counsel them.I told him it was such an issue because, being in the military is a job and a career, and like any job, you get to hear your co-workers life in great detail, their marriage, their kids, etc., but gays in the military don't have the same consideration because it would be telling right? So we're supposed to just make lies and act like we give two shits about str8 life, while we can't talk about anything in ours.

I'm still here, just not so inspired to write after what happened with those Jack@$$ that stole pics from our wedding and forwarded them to all the people that my hubby knows. We have been doing "Damage Control work" and trying to get back on track!

That's sad to hear, Juan. Pardon my ignorance, but what sort of "damage" happened as a result of pictures being forwarded to people?

Sigh...Because my hubby works in the Faith Business, and the conservatives think that we got a wedding in a church. The truth is that we got married in Iowa in the court house and had a religious service, but that was a "thanksgiving" in Minneapolis.
