Tom, the boyfriend exists , I've heard his voice over the phone when the two of them were talking. But he did complaint about him (apparently it is a guy with no job or anything and he is constantly asking John for money, and John doesn't like that situation), so maybe there is a chance for me. I think I have no other choice now but to be his friend . If I'm lucky something might happen in the future, and if nothing happens , well , I won't get depressed about it.

And so today I went to a madhouse... a place for the mentally insane. I went with  my best friend, she is a wonderful girl that I trust completely. And since she is an actress she wanted to go see crazy people, as research (she's going to be a mad woman in her next play). I spent all morning with her and part of the afternoon. She made me feel so much better. So I'm OK now.

Rome wasn't built in a day?  I thought it was during a cool music montage sequence...

Arc this reminds me of when I watch the show Super Nanny or Wife Swap, I do it because I want to feel superior, I always tell Chuck "Damn those people are screwed up, see we are so good." :0)

Good point. I like to think I'm a patient guy, but I guess every now and then I feel a bit desperate.

Jodi: It wasn't my intention to feel superior. I just went there because she needed to go there. But we spent the rest of the afternoon talking and eating a strawberry cheesecake. It was great seeing her. And I'll go visit her this weekend again.

Arc OK my post sounded horrible in relation to what you posted, I wasn't talking about you feeling superior, not at all, I saw your post as you realizing life is pretty good and it can always be a lot worse. It's kind of like a saying I grew up with from my dad. When we would complain about something we had, like say an old bike and wanted a new one. My dad would say "I knew a man that complained about the holes in his shoes, until he saw a man with no feet" .

Your post just had reminded me of why I like watching those shows, I know that is bad of me and not my most proud moment, but geeze some of those people just really make me happy to be who I am.

Jodi: I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding. There was nothing wrong with your post. And I do enjoy feeling superior every now and then. But that Saturday I really had no energy for such efforts. The madhouse was so peaceful that my friend joked about how nice it would be to stay there. And I thought, well, these crazy guys have an easy life, they have doctors attending them and they don't have to worry about getting a job or having a love life. Now I may try to feel superior if we go again, which might happen next Saturday.

Moyer: Thank you. And enjoy your well deserved vacations.
